Mitipi is a Swiss tech company redefining security for homes, small and large businesses, and enterprise clients.

Mitipi was founded in Switzerland in 2018 as a spin-off from Helvetia Insurance with a bold mission: to stop burglaries before they happen. After years of research with police officers, burglary victims, and even burglars themselves, we developed our flagship product, a device called KEVIN®, inspired by the boy Kevin in the movie “Home Alone”. 

Powered by Swiss AI, KEVIN® simulates authentic human presence through realistic lights, shadows, and natural household soundscapes. We’ve spent years perfecting KEVIN® into a proven, market-ready solution that is not only a companion when you’re away, but also an excellent device for music, radio and light effects when you’re at home. Along the way, we secured US, EU, GB and Swiss patents valid until 2041. We won major innovation awards, such as the European Security Award, and expanded into Germany, France, and the USA. 

Today, Mitipi is pioneering the unique niche of Prevention Security, a new category that shifts protection and security from reactive to proactive, from detection to prevention. The next generation of our product adds audio intrusion detection and an optional voice interface, enabling KEVIN® not only to prevent but also to detect intrusions in real time and fight back the burglars. 

Our goal is clear: to make Mitipi’s Swiss AI Security Ecosystem the new global standard for security in homes and businesses. 2018:

Why did you choose crowdinvesting for financing?

We want our growth to include those who share our vision. Crowdinvesting allows our actual and potential customers, partners, and supporters to become co-owners and actively shape the future of Security. It also enables contributions of any size, giving everyone the opportunity to help create a safer world.

How did you come up with the company valuation?

Our valuation reflects years of innovation, patented Swiss AI technology, and proven market traction. It incorporates country-specific burglary data and the projected adoption of the KEVIN® security system in each planned market, based on experience in Switzerland. For the valuation, we applied both a discounted free cash flow model and a venture capital model, evaluating multiple scenarios. The current valuation is set below the previous round in 2023 to provide investors with the opportunity to acquire a larger share of a targeted, successful international expansion into the US and beyond.

Do I get voting rights?

Our crowdinvesting campaign is structured without voting rights. Strategic decisions remain with the founding team and management, ensuring that we can act efficiently and respond swiftly in the event of a takeover bid from a large multinational tech company.

Will I receive dividends?

We are fully investing in R&D and growth, which means no dividend payments are planned at this stage. Investors will realize their financial return in the event of an exit or share sale.

Is an exit planned?

Our priority today is scaling KEVIN® through innovation with an exit planned within five years, ideally through acquisition by a major tech or security player. Our benchmark is the US camera security company Ring that went from a $4 million Series A to a $1 billion exit to Amazon within five years. For this reason, we have strengthened our board with former General Managers and Directors from IBM, Google (USA) and Ricoh (USA), and have established Mitipi GmbH in Berlin (D) and Mitipi Incorporated in Santa Clara (USA), in Silicon Valley. Through your investment in Mitipi AG, you are also fully invested in these two companies.
