The Swiss pet insurance market remains significantly underinsured. Switzerland has around 2.5 million dogs and cats, yet less than 10 % of them are insured. Since entering the market, Calingo has already built significant traction. More than 12 000 dogs and cats are currently insured with Calingo. By the end of 2025, the company had built a portfolio of CHF 8.3 million in recurring premiums.

The business model is based on recurring revenues and a scalable distribution approach. In addition to direct customer acquisition, Calingo works with established partners through B2B2C distribution. These include Allianz Suisse, SWICA, Coop, Qualipet, Brack.ch and a network of more than 200 veterinary practices.

Calingo positions itself not only as an insurance provider, but as a digital platform for pet health. Its proprietary technology combines digital processes with veterinary expertise. This is designed to simplify workflows, process claims efficiently and better support pet owners in everyday life.

A central component of Calingo’s further development is its health platform. It is intended to identify risks at an early stage, make prevention more accessible in daily life and create a long-term data-based ecosystem around the health of dogs and cats.

Calingo is already strongly positioned in the Swiss market. In addition to well-known distribution partners, the company is backed by recognised investors. According to the campaign page, these include Zürcher Kantonalbank, six investors from “Die Höhle der Löwen” and leading Swiss and European VCs.

How Calingo plans to use the funding
